The Microsoft founder, 65, disclosed that despite not having a prenuptial agreement, they amicably divided their extensive wealth, with Melinda retaining the family dog.
Gates declined to confirm or deny allegations of infidelity, choosing not to address rumors surrounding multiple affairs. When asked about their current relationship, he remarked, "We have a super important, complex, close relationship where we've chosen to work together. And I'm very happy that we get to work together. I'm also grieving the same way she is."
Reflecting on the divorce settlement, estimated at around $130 billion, Gates described it as 'fair' for both parties. The couple, blessed with three children, Jennifer, Rory, and Phoebe, navigated discussions focused on their philanthropy rather than a reduction in their wealth.
The distribution of assets apparently included Melinda retaining ownership of the family dog, a detail Gates playfully emphasized. He expressed contentment with their amicable separation, stating, "We weren't mean to each other."
