Prince Harry Edges Out Meghan Markle in US Popularity Poll Newsweek

While Meghan Markle may have once been hailed as the American princess, it appears that Prince Harry, her British counterpart, holds a slightly higher favor among the surveyed US audience, according to a recent poll conducted by Newsweek.

The survey, conducted between September 3 and 4 with 1,500 adults, revealed that Prince Harry, 38, enjoys a slightly higher popularity compared to his wife, 42. Notably, 33% of respondents reported a dislike for Meghan Markle, while a closely competing 31% expressed the opposite sentiment, resulting in a net approval rating of -2 for the former "Suits" star. This marks an eight-point decline from the June royal poll.

On the flip side, The Duke of Sussex garnered approval from 39% of respondents, with 27% expressing dislike, resulting in a net approval rating of +12. While this signifies a decrease in Prince Harry's fan approval since June, when he held a +18 rating, he still maintains a favorable stance.

Newsweek highlighted that Meghan Markle tends to be more popular with the 18-26 age group, who gave her an overall rating of +19. In contrast, the 57-75 age group (Boomers) offered her a -7 rating. Prince Harry mirrors a similar trend, earning a +17 rating among Gen X and a +13 rating from Boomers.

The survey results come on the heels of the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's passing at the age of 96 on September 8, 2022. Prince Harry, who recently visited London and attended the WellChild Awards, took the opportunity to honor his late grandmother, stating that she is "looking down on all of us."

The Post reached out to representatives of the Sussexes for comment on the poll.
