The prestigious accolade went to Spike Lee, Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, and Kevin Willmott for "BlacKkKlansman." Notably, it marked Spike Lee's first competitive Oscar win, despite his esteemed career and an earlier Honorary Academy Award in 2016.
Larson recalls the camaraderie with Jackson, referring to him as her soulmate on Earth. She shares a behind-the-scenes glimpse, saying, "He was like, 'Okay, when we open up the envelope, if it says Spike's name, I'm gonna say it.' And I was like, 'Of course. Absolutely!'"
