Every month, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spotlight Instagram accounts dedicated to specific social causes. Starting in May, the focus was on mental health initiatives, followed by LGBTQ+ organizations in June during Pride month.
Prince Harry, in an Instagram post, expressed concern about environmental damage being a by-product of economic growth. He emphasized the impact of individual choices, footprints, and actions on the planet, stating, "With nearly 7.7 billion people inhabiting this Earth, every choice, every footprint, every action makes a difference."
The royal couple encourages their followers to visit the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation's account for details on how to contribute to significant change and help preserve the planet. DiCaprio established his foundation in 1998, aiming to protect the world's remaining wild places and draw attention to conservation, climate change, indigenous rights, and more.
As a UN Messenger of Peace for Climate Change, DiCaprio has supported environmental projects, collaborated with National Geographic for the climate-focused film "Before The Flood," and played a role in ending the ivory trade in Thailand.
DiCaprio seamlessly integrates activism with his work, emphasizing the reality of climate change during his Oscar acceptance speech for "The Revenant" in 2016. The royal couple, in addition to endorsing the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, also supports teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg, the National Geographic Instagram page, the WWF Foundation, the African Parks Network, and Rhino Conservation in Botswana.
